Spam filters
Keep spam out of your chat.
15 spam filters catch links, caps, symbols, repetition and more. Each one times out for 600s by default, or 30s as a first-offence warning.
Pick a filter
Plus 10 more in the dashboard.
Example: The links filter, on its defaults. Louis6321 posts a link; Fossabot deletes it, gives them a 30 second warning timeout and says “@Louis6321, Stop posting links [warning]”. 30 seconds later they post another link and are timed out for 600 seconds.
Example: The caps filter, on its defaults. Gav posts a long message in capitals; Fossabot deletes it, gives them a 30 second warning timeout and says “@Gav, Too many caps in message [warning]”.
Example: The symbols filter, on its defaults. Creat1vely posts a line of symbols; Fossabot deletes it, gives them a 30 second warning timeout and says “@Creat1vely, Too many symbols in message [warning]”.
Example: The repetition filter, on its defaults. Louis6321 posts one emote over and over; Fossabot deletes it, gives them a 30 second warning timeout and says “@Louis6321, Message is too repetitive [warning]”.
Example: The message height filter, on its defaults. Creat1vely posts a block of ASCII art eight rows tall; Fossabot deletes it, gives them a 30 second warning timeout and says “@Creat1vely, Your message is too tall, estimated height: 176px [warning]”.
Blocked terms & lookalikes
Block any word or phrase.
Match it anywhere in a message, or use regex when you need more. A lookalikes list swaps 3 back to e and 1 to i first, so “fr33 v1ewers” still gets caught.
Example: a blocked term, “free viewers”, set to ban for viewbot spam, and a lookalikes list that reads 3 as e and 1 as i. spam_bot_9000 posts “get fr33 v1ewers at viewbot.example”; Fossabot reads it as “get free viewers at viewbot.example”, deletes it and bans the account.
Custom commands & timers
Answer chat with commands and timers.
Make a command for anything chat asks, and let a timer post reminders on its own. Cooldowns stop floods, and timers skip their turn when chat is quiet.
Example: sirhype asks when the next stream is, and a moderator replies “!schedule”. The !schedule command responds “Live Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6pm.”, and Fossabot says it in chat. It has a 5 second global cooldown and a 30 second per-user cooldown. A timer named Reminders posts its two messages in turn, “Enjoying the stream? Follow so you don’t miss the next one.” and “Type !schedule to see when we’re live next.”, every 15 minutes while live and every 60 minutes while offline, once at least 10 lines have been sent in chat; when chat has been quieter, it skips that turn.
Chat alerts
Post alerts on every platform.
Thank raids, subs, follows and more in chat, wherever you stream. Every message is yours to edit, and variables like $(user) fill in the details.
What each platform can alert on
- Twitch
Follows, subs, resubs, gifted subs, bits, raids, hype trains, polls, predictions, watch streaks, charity donations, ad breaks, title or game changes and going live.
- YouTube
New subscribers, Super Chats, Super Stickers, memberships, gifted memberships, member milestones and upgrades.
- Kick
Follows, subs, resubs, gifted subs, title or game changes and going live.
- X
Follows and subscribers.
Example: Twitch's raid alert, set to “$(user) is raiding the stream with $(viewers) viewers!”. When KaiCenat raids with 7514 viewers, Fossabot posts “KaiCenat is raiding the stream with 7514 viewers!”.
Roles & audit logs
One dashboard for you and your whole mod team.
Give your moderators roles and work side by side. Everyone sees changes at once, and the audit log shows who changed what.
An example of the Fossabot dashboard: moderators edit, add and toggle chat commands, and each change appears in the audit log.
